Greg Porter is the principle of GP&A. What having degrees in Electrical Engineering, he got engaged with IT very early in his career, using technology to solve technical problems in the electrical distribution industry, moving on to more commercial systems. He has seen four waves of technology (both systems and networks). His education in Engineering, Operations Research, Organizational Development and later in Financial Management has enabled him to apply his skills across the breadth of industries of every type (including electricity utilities, vertically integrated mining company, technology companies, higher education, not for profit, management services, international electronics (FMCG), transport, state and federal government), and organizational types (Government, utilities, geographically distributed, international).
One of his major strengths is to quickly adapt to new situations and to provide a fresh view of an organization, and ask questions that don’t get asked but should. he is not afraid to ask the “dumb” questions that cause people to question and affirm what they are doing or cause change.
